Mater International Institute of the Sacred Heart
Mater International Institute of the Sacred Heart is a place of HERITAGE and INNOVATION.
Heritage, because we are part of a global network of 140 Sacred Heart schools present in over 40 countries, with more than 200 years of tradition worldwide, over 140 years in Mexico, and more than 115 years in Monterrey.
Innovation, because we are committed to being a cutting-edge institution by providing enriched learning ecosystems that balance the use of technology with deep respect for the individual.
Our educational model is person-centered, aiming to form leaders with a critical, investigative spirit and socio-environmental awareness—individuals empowered to transform the world. We promote intercultural understanding and the development of the English language through meaningful experiences that support authentic language acquisition.
We implement processes endorsed by international organizations to ensure educational quality through the accreditation of institutions, programs, and platforms such as Cambridge, Habildmind, Common Sense, Apple Teacher, Google, and others.
We consciously cultivate an ethic of care by leveraging sports and cultural spaces to develop key life skills such as teamwork, discipline, health, and well-being. Likewise, we believe that engaging with vast green spaces nurtures a love for, respect for, and appreciation of nature.
Through our Christian Social Development Program, we guide our educational community—especially our students—in nurturing their inner life and conscience. This is done within an environment that supports socio-emotional development, helping them become consistent and transformative citizens, committed to fostering a culture of peace through positive and meaningful relationships.
Our Mission: Educating with Love
Inspired by the Heart of Jesus, we strive for the holistic growth of each person, promoting the values of justice, solidarity, and love. Through education, we nurture young people with faith, compassion, and courageous hope.
Our educational philosophy is rooted in the development of each individual’s multiple intelligences, supporting them in reaching their full potential. We recognize the importance of diverse skills, such as:
- Logical reasoning and comprehension
- Emotional intelligence
- Creativity and critical thinking
- Conflict resolution

Congratulations to our second-semester students: Karly García, Marian Tostado, Valeria Hernández, Isis Aguilar, and Geraldy Grimaldo, for winning Second Place in the International Contest “Move Your World 2024,” organized by JPIC and the JPIC Learning Hub!
Competing against high schools from around the world, their innovative project “Reuse and Give New Life” uses vermicomposting to donate trees to schools — a true demonstration of environmental commitment.
We also extend special recognition to our sixth-semester students for their inspiring project, “Wings of Hope.” Great work, everyone!
First place went to Australia, and third place to Ireland.
3K Family Run – Connecting Hearts 2025
The “Connecting Hearts in Family” 3K Run at Instituto Mater is a vibrant event filled with energy, joy, and family unity — a true reflection of Sacred Heart values.
From our youngest Maternal students to our Prepa seniors, families come together — parents, grandparents, and children — to enjoy a friendly 3-kilometer course. Whether running, walking, or simply sharing the moment, the goal is to cross the finish line as a family.
For those with a more competitive spirit, first, second, and third places are up for grabs.
As part of this exciting day, students also take part in football, basketball, and volleyball tournaments, where children and parents of all ages share fun, teamwork, and community.
Without a doubt, it’s a one-of-a-kind event, proudly carrying the Mater Sacred Heart spirit.
